Masked members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) brandish weapons 23 June 2003 as they carry the body of one of four members of an armed offshoot of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah faction who were killed in the northern Gaza Strip yesterday, during a funeral procession in Gaza City. Arafat accused Israel today of deliberately setting to torpedo a US-backed 'roadmap' for Middle East peace by repeatedly targeting Palestinian militants. The circumstances in which the four militants died remained unclear. Israeli sources said they probably died following the premature explosion of their own bomb, while Palestinian sources insisted it was an Israeli attack.
