Frankfurt/ Oder is on the western bank of the Oder, opposite the Polish town of Słubice, which was a part of Frankfurt until 1945. This border bridge is located as part of the inner-city border crossing between Frankfurt/ Oder (Germany) and Słubice Poland). The state border between the two countries runs in the middle of the Oder, around 70% of the bridge is on Polish territory.
