The remains of the Ottoman castle date back to the 16th century.Ottomans had a marine garrison here at their peak days.They built a small castle around the garrison and inside was a small town with a mosque,houses,bakery,shops,etc.The stones used in the wall were brought from the ancient city of Teos which is very close.Today, the castle walls and the small town inside the walls are cleaned and restored .It is a quiet,clean ,relaxing place to tourists nowadays.
