Berlin City Palace Receives Its Golden Cupola And Cross

BERLIN, GERMANY - MAY 29: A crane lifts the newly-finished gold-covered cupola and cross onto the dome of the rebuilt Berlin City Palace on May 29, 2020 in Berlin, Germany. The cross has stirred controversy, with critics charging it is inappropriate. The Berlin City Palace, in German called the 'Berliner Schloss', was among the landmark buildings in central Berlin until it was badly damaged during World War II and later demolished. The new building will blend historical exterior elements of the old building with a modern interior and is slated to open later this year.
