Germany To Expand Border Controls In Attempt To Stop Irregular Immigration
FRANKFURT (ODER), GERMANY - SEPTEMBER 10: German federal police watch over cars arriving at the German-Polish border on September 10, 2024 in Frankfurt an der Oder, Germany. German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser announced yesterday that Germany will widen its police monitoring to all of its border crossings to stop irregular immigration. Immigrants arriving to seek asylum will be turned away with the directive to seek asylum in the country they are crossing from. Germany's leading political parties are negotiating new legislation to stem irregular immigration following a terror attack by a Syrian man in the town of Solingen recently that left three people dead. Many local communities claim they have already taken in more migrants over recent years than they have the resources to house and integrate. (Photo by Maja Hitij/Getty Images)
