(Original Caption) Here is William B. Springfield, Acme's Philadelphia photographer, who was assigned to cover the arrival of the airship Hindenberg at Lakehurst, NJ, May 6. Little did he know that he would be facing death and destruction in its most terrible form- that of fire. It is not the first time that "Springy" has faced danger. As an Acme cameraman for over a decade, he has spent many hours in the air. He flew up North to photograph the arrival of the Italian Air Armada, headed by Italo Balbo. He has flown scores of time to take pictures of new shops and lighter-than-air craft in the U.S. The Hindenburg disaster proves that a cameraman must be alert at all times- for all 1936 arrivals of the destroyed zeppelin were just "routine."
