United Nations Delegates Voting

(Original Caption) In one of its rare instances of unanimity, the 11 nations of the Security Council today voted to condemn Israel for the February 28th attack on the Egypt-controlled Gaza Strip. This photo shows delegates of the council voting for the censure resolution sponsored by the U.S., Great Britain and France. At extreme right of the round table sits Egypt's representative, Omar Loutfi, who brought in the complaint; while second from the extreme left end of the round table, is Israeli's representative, Abba S. Eban, behind his nation's nameplate. Although Russia's delegate, A.A. Sobolev, seated to left of Britain's Sir Pierson Dixon, doesn't have his hand up, he signified his approval of the resolution. U.S. delegate Henry Cabot Lodge, at right of Sir Pierson, has his hand up high.
