Olympic Bobsledders Eugenio Monti and Victor Emery at the 1964 Winter Games

Italy's famed bobsled racer Eugenio Monti gets a consoling pat on the shoulder from Victor Emery of Canada, who piloted his team to the Olympics gold medal in the four-man bob competition on February 7th, 1964. Monti, an eight-time world champion, won third place for the Bronze medal behind Canada and Austria. In the 1968 Winter Games, Monti would return to the Olympics and win the gold medals for both the four and two man bobsled races.
