LLoyds "name" Sir William Jaffray, one of more than 200 individuals who pledged all their wealth to back Lloyd's of London, outside the High court after the "names" lost their multi-million lawsuit against the insurance market. *...High Court judge Mr Justice Cresswell rejected their claim that they were persuaded to sign up under false pretences and were the victims of a sustained fraud and therefore not liable for their share of the market's huge losses connected with asbestosis policies. The judge said there should be an independent panel set up by Lloyd's to consider the individual cases of the more than 200 names who did not agree to a financial settlement in 1996.
