Marie Stafford Talking to Her Brother

(Original Caption) Mrs. Marie Ahnighito Peary Stafford of Washington, D.C., and her brother Robert, the son and daughter of the late Rear Admiral Robert C. Peary are pictured at a meeting of the American Polar Society at the American Museum of Natural History. They are standing beside the great meteorite "Anighito" named by her and discovered by her famous father. Mrs. Stafford was one of the principle speakers before the society. Her subject was "childhood experiences in Greenland," one on which she is particularly fitted to speak. As the most northerly born white child, she has made four trips into the Arctic, all before she was ten years old. She is widely known as "the snowbaby." Rear Admiral Peary is the discoverer of the North Pole.
