Left to right: Simone Signoret, Best Actress, Room at the Top; Charlton Heston, Best Actor, Ben Hur; Shelley Winters, Best Supporting Actress, The Diary of Anne Frank; and William Wyler, who accepted for actor Hugh Griffith who, out of the country, could not pick up his own statuette as Best Supporting Actor for Ben Hur. Wyler won an Oscar for himself, however: Best Director, Ben Hur. The 32nd Annual Academy Award presentations took place at the Pantages Theater here.
