First Black Player in National Hockey League

Willie O'Ree, 22, of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, is the first Black player in the National Hockey League. He played his first game here, Jan. 18th, helping the Boston Bruins to shut out the Montreal Canadians, 3-0.
