02192020 - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA: Tom Perez, Chair of the Democratic National Committee, speaks to the media after democratic presidential hopefuls joined the picket line with members of the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 outside the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020. rough transcript: Folks, if something doesn't go right when question from reporter: Trump was tweeting yesterday and again, sort of floating this idea that their primary was gonna be rigged against Bernie Sanders, what are you doing? It's a party to make sure that that narrative doesn't stick with voters. Perez : Well, President Trump can't talk about his cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. He doesn't want to talk about the fact that people with pre existing conditions would be screwed. Under his approach. He can't talk about the fact that he has appointed two supreme court justices who are anti union and want to screw these people here from the Culinary Institute. So what he does is try to divide and conquer. There's nothing new about that what we will continue to do as a party is make sure that everybody gets a fair shake. And again, the beauty is that every candidate who's running for president would make such a far better president and every candidate running has agreed to support whoever the winner is, so we're not gonna let him divide and distract us. Thanks. Good
