‘Funeral March’ to Sen. Susan Collins’ home in Washington DC

On Friday October 5, 2018 Senator Susan Collins, Republican of Maine, declared her support and "Yes" vote for Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination. On October 6, 2018 the morning after Collins’s speech, a group of sexual assault survivors and supporters held a mourning procession through Collins’s neighborhood of Lincoln Park. The 'Funeral March' participants stood in front of Senator Collin's residence with right arms raised and chanted “Your time has passed! We will not be silenced any longer. We will never go back! We will survive!” “This is our song. The storm is ranging. All tears are gone. This is our battle cry. This is our song. So march on our sisters. The war is raging.” Despite the loud chanting in front of Collin's home there was no obvious visible or physical evidence as to whether there was anyone in the home nor if Susan Collins heard the chanting. Nonetheless, residents in several neighboring houses step onto their porch upon hearing the chants. #stopkavanaugh #MeToo #believesurvivors (Footage by Tomas Abad/Getty Images).
