Senator McConnell floor remarks after last resort Republican health care bill defeated

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky speaks on the floor with Senators present after a dramatic vote, defeating the Health Care Freedom Act, calling it clearly a disappointing moment, that constituents deserve better and that when the moment came most members voted to keep their commitments. McConnell thanks colleagues who spent an endless amount of time on trying to achieve consensus, but a disappointment indeed, suggesting that Democrats are celebrating and probably very happy but the American people are hurting in a serious way under Obamacare and it is appropriate to ask for their ideas.
