Bodies in the street and hospital vandalised as Sky News first to see devastation left by extremists

VOICED: Sky News are the first international broadcasters to reach the centre of the Mozambican town of Palma which was ransacked by extremist militants linked to the Islamic State. Our team saw bodies still lying in the street and multiple shops and homes, as well as the hospital that had been vandalised and set alight. Residents told us the attackers were well armed, shooting indiscriminately, wielded machetes and carrying out beheadings on 5th of April in Palma, Mozambique.
