Picture shows the sand dunes of the Erg Chebbi, a desert part of the western Sahara, near the village of Merzouga in the east of Morocco, near the Algerian frontier. The erg is a large sea of dunes formed by wind-blown sand, some reaching up to 150 m high. It is one of the two largest erg of Morroco and a popular touristic location. The picture was taken at sunrise in the heart of the erg, while the sunlight created a beautiful play of shadow and light on the dunes.
