Activists from Greenpeace's 'Arctic Sunrise' ship prepare a limestone rock to be placed in the marine park of the Gulf of Lion off the coast of Occitanie, southern France, on May 21, 2025. 15 rocks have been placed on the seabed at the bottom of the park to prevent trawling. With this gesture, Greenpeace intends to denounce the French government's lax attitude towards the protection of its marine protected areas and calls on it to commit to banning trawling by the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC-3), to be held in Nice next June.
