Iraqi Gypsies Forced To Live In Former Military Compound

BAGHDAD, IRAQ - JUNE 18: A Gypsy man wakes up from a hangover in a former Iraqi army military compound June 18, 2003 in the outskirts of Baghdad. About 135 Gypsy families are living in the compound with no electricity, water or sewage but are still loyal to Saddam Hussein who gave them homes and Iraqi citizenship before his regime fell. When the regime fell, they were forced to leave their homes near the Abu Ghraib prison by their Iraqi neighbors and they moved into the military compound. The Gypsies says that they have to make their living off of prostitution and theft and have set up an open sex market using women and children. (Photo by Marco Di Lauro/Getty Images)
