The 10th Annual Academy Awards at The Biltmore Bowl Commence - Video stock HD

A table full of statues and plaques from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences are on display. Two hours before the ceremony begins, the Academy lets the press come in to take pictures of the awards as to not be a distraction during the actual proceedings. Luise Rainer poses for the photographers with her award for Best Actress that she won for her portrayal of O-Lan in the film The Good Earth. Academy president Frank Capra gives the Best Direction award to Leo McCarey for his work on screwball comedy classic The Awful Truth. Capra may be the president of the Academy, but he was also nominated this year for Best Direction for his film Mr. Deeds Goes to Town. Frank and Leo jokingly tussle with the award until Frank lets Leo claim his prize. Cecil B. DeMille presents a special award to the film library of New York's Museum of Modern Art. Distinguished writer Louella Parsons accepts the award on behalf of the museum. W. C. Fields presents a special award to Mack Sennett for his contributions to big screen comedies.
