A common Reef Octopus (Octapus cyanea) is hunting in the shallow coral reef at Phi Phi Archipelago, Andaman Sea, Krabi, Thailand. Here is a rarely seen behaviour, where the Octopus uses its legs to create an ‘umbrella’ blanket over a rock. It then flushes out fish using suction. Extremely intelligent, they have the ability to change colour to blend in with their surroundings to avoid predation. It is notoriously difficult to approach these creatures and takes time and skill to get in close without scaring them off.
