UNITED STATES - JANUARY 20: Daily News page 42 dated January 20, 2008, Headline: RUTHLESS RUTH, Ruth Snyder met her end after murdering her husband, Albert. She stood in court with her daughter and mother. The story of the most famous sneak shot photo in tabloid history began with a wink between a woman and a man who should have known better. The year was 1925 and Snyder and Judd Gray were having lunch at separate tables at Henry's, a Manhattan cafe. Ruth Snyder was an ordinary wife and mother from Queens Village, N.Y. Photographer Tom Howard, a Chicago Tribune legman and the News had guietly brought him in on special duty. Howard lifted his baggy right cuff to reveal a camera the size of a fat billfold stapped to his ankle. He pointed his toe and released the shutter with a cable.
