[From Paramount Screen Souvenirs #4-3, 1935] [with added VO humorous narration throughout, not part of original movie] QS title card: "Lower New York in 1896--when 14th Street was way uptown and the Bowery was the Gay White Way." / Intro title: "A melodramatic tale about two violinists who strung along together in Love's old sweet song, with plenty of sour notes..." / intertitle: "The Musician's Revenge" and cast [original title: "The Voice of the Violin", by DW Griffith, 1909]/ [(AB) Biograph Company emblem appears throughout] violin teacher (Arthur Johnson) professes his love for his student (Marion Leonard) and asks her to marry him. She says no. Teacher is distraught. Student's father (Frank Powell) enters and teacher tells him he wants to marry his daughter; father is angry. Father and daughter leave. Teacher is distraught again
