Film: 'Invention of Lying' gala screening in London: celebrity interviews; Ricky Gervais interview SOT- On it being a VIP screening, a little get-together / On knowing how lucky he is, everything came from 'The Office' , people we got in Extras were because they like The Office, slow growth, our biggest fans initially were the industry people, fact I can call someone up and say "I've got an idea for you" and it's Edward Norton is ridiculous - This was an idea, Matt Robinson who co-wrote it with was ill and watched entire first series of Twilight Zone and said he wanted to do funniest episode, seed of the idea, only happens for first half of the film and then it becomes much more philosophical movie, more to drama, and ends like a Hollywood romcom- Even celebrities need a wee - ('Cemetery Junction') This is a return to our roots, much more realistic, set in early Seventies, about a group of twenty-somethings coming of age in a small town, want it to be cool and sexy I have to play one of their dads, it happens to us all, and I wee, in fact I'm going now
