Joseph Engelberger, robotics expert, speaking in 1979 on Orwell's '1984' novel and the possibility of robots and artificial intelligence taking over humanity."The one thing [sic] fascinates me because of my field, and there's no prediction of robots in '1984' and it becomes very obvious, if you read it again, why there aren't any robots... because the people have become automatons and there's no need for robots; they've created automatons.
