Motor racing in Australia has traditionally been a male dominated sport, none more so than the V8 supercars. Next year however Swiss ace Simona de Silvestro will become the event’s first full time female driver in more than four decades. This year she is competing in one event, the Bathurst 1000, dubbed the "Great Race" and widely regarded as the pinnacle of Australian motorsport.
