President Of Tokyo Electric Power Co. Pledges To "Stand By Sufferers"

FUKUSHIMA, JAPAN - MAR. 11: Tokyo Electric Power Co. president Naomi Hirose on Wednesday March 11 pledged that the company will "stand by" those who are suffering from the radioactive contaminations from the meld down Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. Hirose was addressing staffs and employees at the Fukushima plant on the occasion of East Japan Great Earthquake in 2011. Its quakes and tsunami triggered the power loss and eventual meltdown of three active nuke reactors emitting countless radioactive substances. The meeting was televised to TEPCO's headquarters in Tokyo and participants in both places gave a moment of silence and prayer for the victims of the 2011 tragedy. TEPCO is virtually government-run and still faces hard work to clean up the vast contaminated areas and huge sum of compensations for the nuke accident.
